Database Manager

Requirements:

• We are looking for a candidate with at least 1–2 years experience in database administration or system support within a spacecraft operation or similar mission-critical systems environment.
• We require experience in Oracle database administration.
• We require experience with the following operating systems: RHEL, Solaris, Windows 2012, Windows 2022, and Windows 10.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a similar discipline is desirable, though we may relax this requirement where relevant experience is present.

Responsibilities:

• We perform database maintenance and update activities.
• We implement database changes requested through change management procedures.
• We release new databases onto the system.
• We maintain database change control documentation.
• We perform routine data and software backup and archiving activities.
• We perform routine system maintenance and housekeeping activities to ensure optimum performance.
• We diagnose and rectify system failures.
• We restart subsystems to recover from failures.
• We support the Software Manager with system, software, and database configuration management activities.

This role is ideal for someone with a Database Manager, Oracle Database Administrator, or Oracle DBA background who has experience supporting and maintaining databases and systems in a mission-critical environment. The hourly rate is £41.71ph (umbrella).
