What You’ll Do

Designing, developing, and testing high voltage switches, components, or systems.
Interpreting customer order information, drawings, IEEE, ANSI standards
Configure existing designs to meet customer requirements
Applying mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs.
Contributing to research efforts to develop a solution or a new product.
Managing project design lifecycle from conception to full scale production – this includes component design, support with sourcing, support building prototypes, creation of test plans, and leading a cross-functional project design team to achieve timely completion project milestones.

What You’ll Need to Excel in This Role

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited degree program.
A minimum of 1 - 5 years of product design experience with a strong preference to design of substation equipment.
Detailed knowledge of the limitations & capabilities of the following processes – sand casting, permanent mold casting, machining, and welding.
Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis through SolidWorks Simulation.
Demonstrated experience with bringing new products to market

Competencies/Skills

Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, MS Office suite
Strong analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail and business process
Strong skills in developing and presenting performance metrics reports
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others
Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data
Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting information
Ability to work independently and be self-directed as needed
WMS experience and knowledge preferred
ERP system knowledge (JD Edwards preferred)
