Design Manager

Summary

Leads architectural and interior design projects from concept to construction, coordinating teams and ensuring design intent is executed accurately using AutoCAD and 3D tools.

The Design Manager plays a key role in the delivery of architectural and interior design projects from concept through construction. The role requires strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and the ability to work with a high degree of independence while coordinating closely with project managers, consultants, fabricators, and contractors. This position bridges design intent and execution, contributing meaningfully to concept development, detailed documentation, and site coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Client facing lead and contribute to design development across all project stages, including concept design, design development, and technical documentation

  • Prepare and coordinate comprehensive 2D drawings, construction details, and authority submission drawings using AutoCAD

  • Develop and review high-quality 3D models, visualisations, and renderings for design studies, presentations, and client approvals

  • Translate conceptual design intent into clear, buildable solutions aligned with budget, programme, and fabrication constraints

  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, fabricators, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure accurate execution of design intent

  • Participate actively in client meetings, design presentations, and technical discussions

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, review shop drawings and samples, and resolve design and coordination issues

  • Support junior designers through design guidance, drawing reviews, and informal mentoring

  • Research materials, finishes, systems, and construction methods relevant to project requirements and innovation goals


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related built environment discipline

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in architectural and/or interior design within Singapore

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for construction documentation

  • Competent in 3D modelling and rendering software such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino, V-Ray, Enscape, or equivalent

  • Solid understanding of materials, detailing, fabrication methods, and construction workflows

  • Experience working within a design-and-build environment is strongly preferred

  • Good communication and coordination skills, with confidence engaging clients and project stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently while meeting deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills
