Design Manager – Main Contractor | LTA Cross Island Line MRT

Role: Lead the design management function for an LTA Cross Island Line MRT project, acting as the key interface between the Main Contractor, LTA, Engineer/Consultant, designers, subcontractors, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall design development, submissions, approvals, and design programme.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary designs including civil, structural, geotechnical, architectural, MEP, railway systems, utilities, and temporary works.
  • Manage LTA/Engineer submissions, comments, RFIs, technical queries, and design changes.
  • Ensure designs are constructible, compliant, safe, and aligned with the construction programme.
  • Work closely with construction teams to resolve site/design issues.
  • Manage design consultants, specialist subcontractors, and design interfaces.
  • Coordinate BIM and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and technical risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with LTA requirements, Singapore codes, specifications, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor design risks and prevent design-related delays to construction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in major infrastructure/MRT projects.
  • Proven Main Contractor design-management experience.
  • Singapore LTA/MRT experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with underground stations, tunnelling, civil/structural works, and temporary works advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder, consultant, technical, and construction coordination skills.
  • PE/Chartered Engineer qualification is an advantage.
