To achieve our ambitious goals we are looking for Destination Director (Spain).
In this role you will be responsible for:
Product & Contracting
Coordinate with the Product and Yield (P&Y) Department to prepare Bed Brief lists for Spain and other potential destinations in the region.
Oversee the contracting process, including hotels with commitments or down payments.
Negotiate, review, amend, and finalize DMC and Accommodation contracts — especially those involving hotel commitments or down payments — before signing.
Monitor and update contracts as needed in response to market changes and geopolitical developments.
Contracting Control
Liaise with responsible contacts at DMCs or Direct Contracts to track hotel commitments and ensure percentage and commitment compliance.
Supervise room allocations for Join UP source markets, adjusting and exchanging quotas between markets to avoid shortages.
Negotiate with hotel suppliers (in cases of direct contracts) when there are significant risks, coordinating with P&Y as needed.
Quality Control
Conduct regular airport visits to ensure DMC vehicles and staff meet required standards.
Address any irregularities with DMC, ensuring corrective action is taken promptly.
Visit hotels regularly to verify that guides maintain service standards; request corrections from DMC when necessary.
Review excursion lists and make recommendations for improvement.
Hold periodic negotiations with hotels and DMCs on current operational matters.
Coordinate DMC activities, holding weekly meetings to prevent miscommunication and escalations.
Participate in weekly Zoom reporting sessions with P&Y to maintain alignment and resolve issues.
Hotel Relations
Negotiate Special Price Offers (SPOs) with existing hotels or newly added hotels during the season.
Research alternative properties for high-demand or peak periods to mitigate stop sales.
Offer hotels with competitive rates to P&Y to fill empty flight seats and approach new properties that match customer needs.
Work with hotels experiencing frequent stop sales to reduce and prevent future occurrences.
Market Research & Strategic Development
Explore opportunities to secure exclusive hotel properties for Tour Operator source markets.
Analyze potential for launching new destinations based on market demand and operational feasibility.
Professional experience and skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in tourism management, commerce, contracting/purchasing
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, tourism or related field
- Strong understanding of the tourism market and trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross – functional teams
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products
- Experience with market research and competitive analysis.
