Job description
The development manager is responsible for expanding the Accor managed and franchised hotel portfolio in the MEA region with a big focus on KSA market. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and finalizing all the development projects for Accor, for all brands, all types of contracts, all types of projects, new building / transformation of existing hotels or offices, individual or combined projects.
Key responsibilities:
Establish close relationships with key clients in order to understand their projects, commercial objectives, and branding requirements
Maintain a strong understanding of current market conditions, competitive landscape, and prospective partner, investor, or client opportunities
Support regional development management teams and development personnel throughout the deal-making process through the evaluation of new opportunities, development of pitches, negotiating of contracts, and generally removing hurdles which need to be overcome in order to achieve objectives
Develop close and regular relations with other departments in order to reflect needs and constraints in the agreements, develop up-to-date arguments for selling the company and its services
Represent the company during local and international seminars, exhibitions, or events
Validate reports monthly for roll-up into global reporting
Generate leads to grow the premium, mid-scale, and economy segments in assigned markets
Negotiate and conclude agreements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, real estate, finance, or related field
5–7 years of relevant experience (hospitality experience preferred)
Fluent in Arabic and English
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and stakeholder engagement
Experience in market analysis and feasibility studies
Knowledge of hotel operations, hotel accounting, financial modelling, residential development, branded residences, and hotel brands; ability to interpret legal documents
Experience in brand management and communications is an advantage
