Development Operations Manager, National Development

The high level:
The Development Operations Manager (DOM) is part of the national development team, which facilitates all efforts to support raising approximately $30 million in funds annually for Reading Partners in regions and national. Reporting to the National Development Operations Director (DOD), the DOM will lead these aspects of fundraising operations: 1) overseeing the data integrity of the fundraising Salesforce database by leading Salesforce data entry, management and improvement, 2) creating and implementing development systems, and 3) providing varied support services to the fundraising network, including training and customer service coordination. The DOM will manage the part-time Gift Processing Associate.

This position is remote, and hires (upon start date) should reside in California, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Washington State, or Virginia.

What you’ll do:

Oversee the processing and data integrity of the donations and pledges across the network and ensure smooth operational function of systems that interact with Salesforce:

  • In partnership with the DOD, oversee data integrity of the fundraising Salesforce database by creating reports to audit data, devising policies, collaborating with the Salesforce team as needed, and communicating changes and resources to the field
  • Support Salesforce data analysis to track fundraising and revenue generation progress, including creation and maintenance of dashboards and key reports
  • Supervise Gift Processing Associate to ensure timely and accurate gift entry, acknowledgement and reporting in Salesforce for all gifts
  • During annual budget planning, write and implement technical guidance for Salesforce
  • Serve as content expert for Classy/GoFundMe Pro (online giving platform), providing training and support to regional staff
  • Ensure smooth operational function of systems that interact with our Salesforce database, GoFundMe Pro (online giving platform), DonorSearch (wealth/prospect screening tool), and Conga Composer (document generation tool)

Maintain, create, innovate, and implement systems to support best-in-class fundraising across the Reading Partners network:

  • Oversee the processing and data integrity of all gifts across the organization
  • Participate in monthly and annual revenue and cash reconciliation meetings with the accounting department
  • Train development staff on best in class donor stewardship and cultivation processes across the RP network and lead Salesforce database trainings for the network
  • In collaboration with the DOD and Salesforce team, support the implementation of Salesforce enhancement projects and communicate changes and resources to the field
  • Work with our Salesforce Administrator, Accounting Team, and DOD to improve upon existing systems and processes
  • Refine system for FFS, local government, and AmeriCorps grant tracking in partnership with the accounting and regional operations team
  • Support the National Development department with other duties as needed.

Provide high-quality support to regional and national fundraisers through leading customer/network service efforts and training:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact internally for regional requests by leading on customer service initiatives, including, but not limited to, responding in a timely and supportive way to requests for support on Salesforce or other resource needs
  • Lead high-quality gifts processing trainings and presentations to RP Development network
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of new development staff as they join the Reading Partners network
  • Design and create mailing lists, annual report donor list, annual appeal lists, etc.
  • Lead ongoing and annual updates to gift processing protocols doc, donation pledge forms, tax receipt templates, Library updates, third party gift processing, and matching gift requests
  • Organize, maintain, and communicate resources to regional staff on the Reading Partners Library, Google Drive, and other platforms as needed
  • Develop/update specific trainings as needed.

How you’ll do it:

Operations and Project Management

  • Demonstrate a strong detail orientation, accuracy, and ability to develop compelling reports and communications to be used internally and externally. Execute all work in a highly organized, analytical, and data driven manner.
  • Create clear project plans with diligent implementation making sure all assigned projects are thoroughly completed on time. Identify and communicate all contributors, deadlines and expectations before and during project. Understand vision and distill it into actionable and manageable pieces.

Relationship Development:

  • Internally, establish highly collaborative and trusting relationships with all team members. Demonstrate a hunger to learn, grow, support, and add great value. Regularly seek to understand all aspects of our model to convey externally.
  • Positively collaborate with an internal team to meet and exceed aggressive fundraising goals through effective development operations.

Compensation:

This is a full-time, exempt, and salaried position. The pay range for this position is $71,353 - $83,945 per year and is contingent on geographic location. After applying, candidates who move forward in the hiring process are provided with the salary for their geographical location. We aim to set salaries based on objective, external, high-quality market data. Our salaries are adjusted for candidates in different geographic regions. We do our very best to ensure that we’re bringing our best offer - therefore we do not engage in salary negotiations.
