DevOps and Cloud Engineer

Summary

Designs and automates cloud-based DevOps tooling (CI/CD, IaC, containers) for app/infra teams, migrating legacy systems (e.g., Jenkins → GitHub Actions, on-prem → cloud) while supporting teams with self-service solutions and troubleshooting.

The team is responsible for development tooling for application and infrastructure teams. Due to several planned projects, the team is looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong development background to support the modernization, management, and automation of development tools and infrastructure

Objectives

  • Actively contribute to Automation Platform Team projects.
  • Migrate a GitLab environment to GitHub SaaS.
  • Modernize the existing Jenkins-based CI/CD infrastructure and help define the long-term roadmap.
  • Migrate development tools from on-premises environments to the cloud.
  • Implement the Ansible Automation Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the solution architecture of existing and new tools such as Nexus, GitHub, Jenkins, HashiCorp Vault, Sourcebot, UiPath and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Assist with operational management of both self-hosted and SaaS tools, including Udemy, Miro, Jira and Confluence.
  • Lead migration projects related to development tooling.
  • Communicate with the development community and support development and infrastructure teams.
  • Develop self-service solutions to support migrations.
  • Create usage guidelines and troubleshoot technical issues.

Required Knowledge

  • AWS cloud environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Security, authentication and authorization, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra and SSO.
  • Containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Podman, OpenShift, Kubernetes (EKS), and deployment tools like ArgoCD.
  • Linux administration, monitoring, and Dynatrace.
  • Version control and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab and GitHub.
  • Use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot while respecting security and privacy requirements.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Development experience with Java or TypeScript.
  • Quarkus, Spring Boot, Vue.js or Angular.
  • Jenkins Pipeline development.
  • GitHub Actions development.
  • GitHub governance.
  • IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code experience.

Deliverables

  • Contribute to the team's technical projects.
  • Provide user support for development tooling.
  • Collaborate with other teams to implement selected solutions and technical initiatives.
  • Help define roadmaps and solution architecture for development tools.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum team activities.
