The Role
At Ekkiden we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Digital Identity & Software Development team of an international organisation. You'll work in a multidisciplinary team, backend, frontend, mobile and systems engineering, designing and deploying services with cutting-edge technologies for organisations across the United Nations ecosystem. This role suits someone who likes to experiment: Kubernetes, AI/ML, Digital ID, secure communications, blockchain. If you've worked in an innovation lab before, you'll feel at home.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architecting new services using the latest technologies
- Designing and implementing the infrastructure for new projects
- Integrating third‑party APIs
- Deploying new services on AWS
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring systems and optimising performance
- Managing container orchestration and Kubernetes clusters
Must have
- 8+ years of combined experience in development and systems administration
- Experience creating and managing Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters for production workloads
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies across multiple environments
- Strong infrastructure background: Linux/UNIX, Docker, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, with hands‑on cloud experience
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Development skills in a widely used language: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go or Java
- Ability to grasp new concepts and technologies quickly and turn them into working projects
- Strong English communication skills (the team works in English)
Nice to have
- AWS or Azure certifications in infrastructure, development or data management
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology
- AI/ML knowledge
- Experience with JIRA and GitHub
- Project management methodologies: SCRUM, Agile, PRINCE2 or PMP
- Excellent technical documentation skills and the ability to deliver technical training
- Experience working in geographically dispersed, multicultural teams
- A high degree of initiative, autonomy and the ability to run several projects in parallel
- Customer‑centric approach and strong problem‑solving skills
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential matters
