Reporting Line: Manager Platform Engineering Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dev Ops Engineer to support the M-Pesa platform, with a strong focus on the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solution. The role involves enabling platform reliability, automating deployments, and supporting the application layer to ensure seamless financial crime detection operations. You will work closely with engineering, security, and vendor teams to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available AML platform.

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for SAS AML and supporting application layers Support the enablement, configuration, and optimisation of the SAS AML platform within M-Pesa Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., SAS, Binary) to integrate and stabilise application components Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment setup using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools Manage cloud and on-premises hybrid environments hosting AML workloads Monitor system health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools Ensure platform compliance with regulatory, security, and financial governance standards Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures Manage releases, patches, and upgrades for the SAS AML platform Implement Dev Sec Ops practices, including vulnerability scanning and secure configuration management Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 3-7+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or platform engineering Experience working with financial services platforms or regulated environments (preferably mobile money or banking) Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops) Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix system administration Knowledge of SAS platform administration (preferably SAS AML or SAS Viya) Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, Power Shell) Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates) Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar) Understanding of networking, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns Preferred Skills Experience with M-Pesa or mobile financial services platforms Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), fraud detection, or financial crime systems Experience supporting SAS solutions in production environments Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Experience with database platforms (Oracle, Postgre SQL, or SAS data environments) Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills Attention to detail and commitment to system reliability and security Continuous improvement mindset and automation-first approach
