DevOps Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for a DevOps engineer to join our clients technology team with experience building and scaling services in a cloud environment. You’ll be working with a team of back-end and Android developers, as well as data engineers and data analysts, whilst liaising with our clients service management partners.

You will establish configuration management, automate our infrastructure, implement continuous integration, and ensure that members of the technology team are up to speed with DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployable system.

You will be responsible for all Disaster Recovery and regular system maintenance, as well as performing or coordinating regular security audits, using internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

  • Working with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes in daily bases
  • Maintaining and improving AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and Packer
  • Maintaining and improving our CI/CD pipelines
  • Continuously increasing transparency of our systems through monitoring and alerting
  • Building and maintaining highly available development, staging and production environments
  • Own and deliver Disaster Recovery capability
  • Working with Frontend and Backend teams to implement and build automation solutions
  • Supporting applications hosted in an AWS cloud environment, including deployments, patches, security checks, and maintenance

Requirements

  • BSc computer science or equivalent experience (min 2 year)
  • Knowledge of ‘Infrastructure as Code’ such as Terraform
  • General scripting using bash, python, groovy, ruby
  • Experience of supporting applications, specifically GoLang, Java, Python
  • Understanding of of unix OS(e.g. Linux and MacOS)
  • Experience in Cloud platforms, Ideally with AWS and GCP
  • Working with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL)
  • Experience in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or other
  • Ability to prioritise tickets, projects and multi tasking
  • Ability to to work in a quick paced environment
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Passion for automation
  • Decent knowledge of networks

Bonus points for

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Logic Monitor and Lacework
  • Knowledge of automation tool such as Ansible
  • Familiarity with Android build processes is big plus
  • Knowledge of maintaining and deploying Elasticsearch

Package
