Diagnostic Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Test Engineer responsible for validating ECU diagnostic functions, vehicle communication networks, and test automation solutions. The role focuses on ISO 14229 (UDS) diagnostics, CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet communication, XCP measurement and calibration, DDS-based interfaces, and automated verification using Vector toolchains.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute diagnostic test plans based on ISO 14229 UDS requirements.
Validate DTC setting, storage, aging, healing, and clearing behavior.
Perform ECU diagnostic testing over CAN FD and DoIP/SOME IP networks.
Verify diagnostic services including Session Control, ECU Reset, Security Access, Routine Control, Read/Write Data Identifier, and DTC Services.
Develop automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, and C programming languages.
Create CANoe and vTestStudio automated test environments.
Perform communication validation for CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, DDS, and XCP protocols.
Support HIL, SIL, bench, and vehicle-level testing activities.
Analyze logs and perform root cause analysis for diagnostic and communication issues.
Generate test reports and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of automotive software testing or validation experience.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14229 (UDS) automotive diagnostics.
- Experience with CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, DoIP, SOME IP, and LIN networks.
- Proficiency in Python, C programming, and CAPL scripting.
- Hands-on experience with CANoe, vTestStudio, CANape, and CANalyzer.
- Strong understanding of AUTOSAR communication and diagnostic architecture
- Ability to perform end-to-end debugging across multiple ECUs, software modules, diagnostics, and communication networks
- Knowledge of XCP measurement/calibration protocols.
- Experience validating DDS communication interfaces.
- Experience with HIL, SIL, ECU bench, and vehicle testing.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication. Ability to communicate in Chinese is considered a big plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
- Understanding of Automotive SPICE processes.
- Experience with embedded Linux and QNX environments.
- Experience with requirements management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- ADAS or autonomous driving testing experience.
