Dimensional Engineer

Dimensional Engineer improves vehicle geometry by analyzing parts and assemblies using measurement systems like laser trackers and CMMs, then implements corrective actions with cross-functional teams using CAD tools NX and Team Center.

Project background:
- The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements on vehicle geometry through part, tooling, or design actions.
- The engineer will work with team members to analyze complex parts and sub-assemblies (sheet metal, exterior and interior) using various measurement systems (example, Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs and In-Line Vision Stations).
- Perform data analysis, often organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes.
- Work with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions implemented through data analysis.
- Proactively monitor trend charts and work with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics.
- Interact with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution

Must-Haves:
- Skills / technologies mandatory :
- GD&T - knowledge about measurement and tolerance
- Team Center = NX System -> how to pull the CAD up, how to cut a section of the part
- Proficient reading measurement data
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Mechanical preferred
Soft Skills
- Detailed soft skills:
- Strong communication skills with ability to work with a cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge in basic statistics and process control required
