Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:
Join our dedicated team at the City of Virginia Beach as a Part Time Direct Support Professional II. We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within a residential setting. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants through compassionate care and person-centered support. As a Direct Support Professional II, you will serve adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting.
Specific Duties:
Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP)
Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.
Complete all required documentation and billing processes accurately and ethically.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants based on their ISPs.
Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical appointments.
Support participants in community integration opportunities and transport them as needed.
Attend and participate in all mandatory meetings, supervisions, and trainings.
Uphold participant rights, confidentiality, and follow all incident reporting processes
Collaborate productively with all internal and external stakeholders.
Work Schedule:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 2:30p-9p

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working with Intellectually Disabled and/or Developmentally Disabled (ID/DD) clients OR any combination of education and/or related experience. Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Special Requirements: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required to meet operational needs. Alpha I Status: Positions within this class have been designated as Alpha I positions requiring employees to work during inclement weather, regardless of the City’s operational status.Skills:
