Director, Global Data Center Business Development
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Director, Global Data Center Business Development to own and drive one unified global strategy for the company’s data center thermal fluid and testing services business.
This is a remote position requiring approximately 30% international travel. Candidates must be currently based in the United States.
Salary range: $180,000-$240,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary:
Serves as the central coordination point across all country/regional BD / Sales teams - aligns priorities, pricing philosophy, and customer approach globally
Negotiates global master agreements/frameworks with hyperscalers and ODMs incorporating input from global teams for local nuances; execution remains with in-country teams
Identifies unmet customer needs and develops the business case for new products and services, securing internal buy-in to commercialize them
Acts as primary escalation point and single source of truth for all global data center account activity
Accountable for driving profitable volume growth in the global data center segment, with direct responsibility for translating margin performance into EBITDA contribution
Drives global adoption and growth of the fluid services offering
Serves as the company’s data center offering champion at key industry events, conferences, and standards forums
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain global account strategy for leading hyperscalers, ODMs, key distributors and service providers
Lead global contract negotiations for master supply agreements, pricing frameworks, and strategic terms
Build and maintain a robust global growth pipeline with defined stage gates and forecast discipline
Coordinate cross-regional alignment so country teams execute consistently against global agreements
Identify and qualify new global growth opportunities within the data center / high-performance compute cooling segment
Build and maintain C-level and senior relationships at hyperscaler and ODM accounts
Provide forward-looking demand guidance to Operations and Supply Chain so production and inventory capacity can support global growth
Partner with technical and application engineering teams to support customer qualification and onboarding of cooling fluid solutions
Provide the CCO with regular reporting on pipeline, volume forecasts, profit contribution, and competitive intelligence in this segment
Influence, without direct authority, country teams to ensure global account consistency
Promote and scale the company's fluid testing services globally as a strategic growth lever - driving customer adoption, coordinating test volumes across regions, and ensuring conversion of failed-spec results into fluid sales opportunities
Position testing services as a customer retention and stickiness tool, embedding the company deeper into customer maintenance and procurement cycles
Decision Rights/Authority
Negotiates global contract frameworks
No direct reports; operates via dotted-line influence across country and regional BD organizations
Success Metrics (KPIs)
Primary: Volume growth in the global data center segment
Secondary: Profit contribution, with clear line of sight to EBITDA impact
Supporting: Growth in testing services revenue and conversion rate of failed-spec tests into fluid sales
Required Experience:
Direct fluid / chemical industry experience - Preferred
Strong understanding of the data center ecosystem - customer landscape, growth trajectory, and liquid direct-to-chip cooling/thermal management dynamics - Preferred
Proven track record managing large, complex global B2B accounts - ideally hyperscalers, ODMs, or comparable strategic accounts
Demonstrated success negotiating global framework/master agreements
Experience operating in a matrixed organization without direct authority over regional teams
Familiarity with lab/testing services as a commercial offering - understanding how test results translate into product/upsell opportunities is a plus
Preferred Experience
Existing relationships within hyperscaler or ODM procurement/engineering organizations
Experience in high-growth, high-scrutiny business segments requiring cross-functional coordination
