Job Overview\: Develop and implement successful marketing and sales solicitation activities to secure new business from specified market segments. Maintain existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for our guests.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following\:
Key Responsibilities\:
- Oversee Transient and Corporate Travel strategy, directing outbound sales efforts, RFP management, and relationship growth to drive revenue.
- Represent Thompson Austin and tommie Austin at industry events, sales trips, and trade shows to expand market presence and generate demand.
- Direct the proposal and contracting process, ensuring timely responses, strategic RFP positioning, and brand‑compliant agreements.
- Lead quarterly transient action plans focused on market penetration, account growth, and revenue performance.
- Oversee use of sales systems to manage pipeline performance and identify growth opportunities.
- General Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors affecting supply and demand.
- Serve as a senior leader within the Sales and Marketing team, influencing business decision and fostering collaboration across the broader commercial teams.
- Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills
- Champion and development and continuous evolution of Thompson and Tommie's transient sales enablement strategy, delivering programs, tools and resources that strengthen seller effectiveness, drive consistency and support organizational priorities across the hotel.
- Collaborate with Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Revenue to evaluate emerging industry trends customer needs, and competitive dynamics, translating insights into actionable growth strategies.
- Lead transient and corporate sales strategy meetings, business reviews, and planning sessions to align priorities and optimize results.
- Support broader sales and marketing initiatives in partnership with leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sales team through coaching and performance management.
- Oversee key group accounts and markets to maximize revenue, retention, and long‑term value.
