Director of Data Governance and Strategy

Lead data innovation as the Director of Data Strategy and Partnerships at the Vector Institute in Toronto. Drive the development of effective data governance and establish partnerships to advance AI applications. In this strategic role, you will report to the Chief Data Officer and collaborate across different sectors at Vector. Your responsibilities include shaping the data strategy, building partnerships, and ensuring robust data governance policies. Your leadership will guide teams towards achieving the organization’s mission in AI education and research. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee Vector’s data strategy development and implementation • Foster partnerships with data organizations and stakeholders • Coordinate data sharing efforts across sectors • Ensure compliance with data governance regulations • Manage the Project Manager and Data Steward portfolios Requirements: • Minimum graduate degree in business or AI/ML • At least five years in data strategy operational management • Experience in strategic planning and policy implementation • Deep knowledge of sensitive data governance • Strong communication abilities with diverse groups Amplify the impact of AI projects through strategic governance and partnerships at Vector Institute in Toronto.
