Position Description:

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Engineering — PAR POS & Payments to lead our India-based engineering teams responsible for advancing our core Point-of-Sale (POS) platform and integrated payment systems. This senior technical leader will direct multi-disciplinary .NET, React, Flutter, and Angular development teams working on high-performance, secure, and scalable POS applications and will deliver robust payment and transaction processing solutions that power thousands of restaurant locations worldwide.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in scalable cloud systems (Java, .NET, Go), native cross platform applications (iOT and mobile app experience welcome) and strong people leadership to build and scale high-performing teams in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. In addition, a strong understanding of Agentic SDLC with experience writing agentic frameworks for both software generation and governance.

What We’re Looking For:

Technical & Delivery Leadership:

• Lead, grow, and mentor India-based engineering teams working on core POS and integrated payment processing systems, built primarily on .NET technologies.

• Drive the evolution of our expanding agent workforce that will architect, design, code, and test helping to hyper charge the productivity of our human software engineers.

• Architect and oversee the design and implementation of secure, high-performance, and scalable POS and payment modules.

• Drive technical design reviews, code quality standards, and best practices across the team.

• Own end-to-end delivery execution for POS software enhancements, payment integrations, and compliance with industry standards (PCI DSS, EMV, etc.).

• Ensure robust transaction processing, data security, and high system uptime to meet the demands of high-volume restaurant environments.

• Oversee multiple, concurrent technology projects, managing capacity, timelines, and delivery risks.

• Champion DevOps practices, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and efficient release processes.

• Evaluate and adopt modern .NET frameworks and best practices to continuously evolve the platform.

Team & Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with Product Management, Security, and Global Engineering leadership to align product roadmaps, feature priorities, and customer commitments.

• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and compliance requirements related to payments and POS data handling.

• Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and innovation within the engineering organization.

• Provide regular coaching, career growth opportunities, and performance feedback for senior engineers and team leads.

• Serve as a key point of contact for technical escalations and strategic discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.

Unleash your potential: What you will be doing and owning:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with a strong focus on modern scalable cloud stacks such as .NET technologies, Java, or Go in addition to experience with multi-OS native device application development such as mobile apps or iOT devices.

• Proven track record of leading teams developing high-performance transactional systems, preferably in POS, eCommerce, retail, or payment processing domains.

• Minimum 5 years in a senior management or director-level engineering leadership role.

• Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.

• Prior experience working in fast-paced, high-volume transaction environments is highly desirable.
