Director of Engineering Platform
You will lead multiple platform engineering teams that build the foundation for security products. You will guide scalable, iterative product delivery; set the technical roadmap and engineering practices; and improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and time to market. You will hire and coach engineering managers, develop high-performing engineers, set expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, product management, and threat operations leaders to align technology with customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver performant, scalable products iteratively while balancing customer value with long-term product evolution
- Drive the technical roadmap and best practices for the product platform
- Innovate and optimize the use of AI development tooling
- Attract, recruit, and retain engineering talent
- Hire and coach engineering managers
- Set expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance conversations
- Measure engineering performance and improve team structure and processes
- Improve product and engineering practices to optimize efficiency, quality, and time to market
- Partner with engineering, product, and architecture leaders to align teams and technology with customer needs
- Collaborate with architecture, product management, and threat operations to incorporate their expertise into products
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience building SaaS products in a modern SaaS environment
- 5+ years of director-level or higher experience
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI development tools
- Knowledge of scalable delivery, core platform systems, site reliability engineering, and developer experience best practices
- Experience developing, evolving, and maintaining high-volume scalable solutions
- Understanding of organizing engineering teams for iterative customer-value delivery
- Experience hiring, building teams, leading and coaching managers, and managing performance
- Success partnering with architecture and product management leaders on a shared product and technical vision
- Experience working in a fully remote environment
