Director of Engineering
You will own the technology roadmap for Ongoing Monitoring, covering fraud, financial risk, AML, AI workflows, tooling, and automation. You will build and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows for alert investigation and initial risk decisions, while developing detection for evolving AI-enabled fraud threats. You will ensure systems are auditable, explainable, and aligned with AML and data privacy requirements. You will lead engineering organisations across India, Eastern Europe, and the UK, and partner with Product, Data, AI, Risk, and Operations to improve modelling, deployment speed, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set the technology strategy and roadmap for fraud, financial risk, AML, AI workflows, tooling, and automation
- Build autonomous multi-agent workflows that investigate alerts, retrieve external data, reason through cases, and make initial risk calls
- Develop detection for bot swarms, deepfake-powered KYC bypass, algorithmic fraud loops, impersonation scams, APP fraud, account takeover, and banking fraud
- Ensure AI systems are auditable, explainable, and aligned with global AML directives and data privacy standards
- Build engineering organisations across India, Eastern Europe, and the UK
- Partner with Product, Data, AI, Risk, and Operations to improve predictive modelling and agentic AI capabilities
- Champion AI and machine learning opportunities that reduce operational cost and friction
Requirements
- 15+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years in Director or Senior Director leadership roles
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised models, decision trees, neural networks, and Large Language Models
- Hands-on experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph and AutoGen
- Deep understanding of fraud vectors and AML typologies
- Experience detecting deepfakes, synthetic identities, and prompt injection attacks targeting financial systems
- 5+ years building and deploying production-grade risk-scoring environments at scale
- Experience with fintech risk and compliance tooling, including AML, fraud, financial risk, SARs, KYX, and agentic AI detections
- People leadership skills
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, data platforms, and AWS or GCP
