Job description

Learning & facilitation

  • Review the learning needs analysis for the hotel(s) prior to the budget
  • Review with the hotel(s) the implementation and facilitation of a hotel(s) training plan and budget that is aligned with the hotel’s goals and strategic plan
  • Follow-up on all training activities within the hotel(s)
  • Ensure the hotel(s) are 100% compliant with all Ennismore compliance training
  • Ensure coordination and delivery of training programs of all internal providers
  • Champion company provided online and e-learning tools and portals, ensuring approval processes are in place and executed, as well as registrations and completions are monitored and tracked
  • Assist their hotel(s) in developing quality introductory and ongoing departmental training plans and learning activities; maintain active follow-up through ongoing coaching, guidance and support of junior-, mid-level- and senior leaders
  • Support the quality and learning manager in the development of departmental trainers as required
  • See where synergies can be made with regards to training programmes
  • Participate in regional meetings/workshops and ensure such activities are rolled out as required in the hotel(s)
  • Manage the Connect portal, Ennismore Learning (LMS) and Ennismore Lobby and ensure colleague completion of all required training
  • Supervise the completion of compliance training i.e., Ennismore Way, Anti-Bribery, Antitrust, GDPR, Fire Safety, School of Change, Sustainability, First Aid
  • Review how cross training is used in the hotel(s) and see if there can be a way to do multi-property training
  • Able to facilitate training to all levels in the hotel(s)
  • Act as a champion of the creation of a learning culture
  • Demonstrate proactivity in measuring both feedback about the learning experience as well as sustainable behavioural change. Is confident using Connect, Ennismore Learning and Ennismore Lobby to create reports, can analyse and interpret this data to share with key stakeholders. Uses data for decision-making.

Talent development & performance management

  • Assist with the bi-annual talent review process in conjunction with the department heads and ensure associated documentation is maintained to the required standard
  • Facilitate the performance management cycle from probation reviews, annual performance reviews, development plans and goal setting as well as on the job training for department heads and in turn their teams
  • Ensure departments have adequate departmental trainers, and these are well utilised
  • For all supervisory and managerial positions have a transparent development programme in place in conjunction with the people and culture leader
  • Development of indirect reports to give them ongoing feedback and development

People & culture

Employee engagement and communications

Strive to increase employees’ engagement by promoting a positive work environment where each team member is informed and proactive about the overall business goals. Ensure the consistent delivery of business and associate information with transparency so that each team member understands how they contribute to the company’s success. This will include working on the Employee Engagement Survey (CultureAmp) and People & Culture Audit.

Ensure the Employee Engagement Survey Champions for the hotel/departmental action plans in order to increase employees engagement and improve engagement scores year on year.

Represent the organization as an exemplary ambassador of the Ennismore culture.

Finance

  • Plan the activities and understand how the contribution of the role will impact the performance of the hotel(s)
  • Act on behalf of the business to work through complex situations and reduce risk, interpreting and implementing company policies and employment legislation as appropriate
  • Always exercise sound judgment and integrity to ensure confidentiality of protected information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from a reputable hospitality or business school preferred in hospitality or business administration, psychology, education, human resources management (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 7 years of total experience ideally with strong operations background
  • At least 4 years of experience in a leadership role
  • High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of hotel operations and business acumen
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Strong working knowledge of digital tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skills
  • Excellent communication and customer contact skills
  • Results and service oriented with an eye for details
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in stressful and high-pressure situations
  • A motivator and self-starter
  • Well-presented and professionally always groomed
