Director of Security
Summary
Oversee hotel security operations, enforce safety policies, manage loss prevention, and coordinate with law enforcement to protect guests and staff.
Reporting to the Hotel Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Consistent development, support, promotion and enforcement of hotel policies relating to employee and guest safety and security.
• Assist with the Evaluation and development of the hotel's Fire Prevention Programs and Life Safety Systems
• Know and have a thorough understanding of all relevant Federal, State and Local laws.
• Responsible for assisting with the training and development of Security & Safety Programs throughout the hotel.
• Oversee and administration of Locking Systems and Key Control Programs (Electronic and Manual)
• Assist with overseeing the hotel’s Loss Prevention Program and assist with Claims Management
• Coach the Security team towards achieving exceptional levels of guest service and employee satisfaction results, through the application of all Corporate and property standards and policies
• Assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Security Department, constantly monitoring to improve efficiency and service.
• Liaisons with other Hotel Security and Law Enforcement Agencies
• Assist in planning of VIP, Special Events and Dignitary visits as required.
• Ensuring lost and found property procedures are followed accurately and consistently as required.
• Participate in hotel committees
• Maintenance of a close relationship with all departments.
• Oversee and maintain updated knowledge in relevant Security equipment, systems, procedures and trends.
• Must be available for emergencies both on & off duty
• Payroll, scheduling of normal roster and special events
Compensation: $120,000 - $125,000 per annum
• 2-3 years Security Management experience in similar environment
• Ability to handle emergencies (earthquakes, strikes, power outages)
• Ability to handle staff safety and security issues
• Develop relationships with Law Enforcement
• Degree in Law and Security or equivalent preferred
• Previous fire training or equivalent experience
• Advanced First Aid and CPR Certification required
• Previous claims management experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and MSDOS preferred
