Director of Treasury
What You’ll Do
Being a Director at Moneybox doesn’t just mean you own and manage your function, it means you play a vital role in helping define company strategy through cross-functional steering committees, quarterly planning meetings, and management committees. Moneybox has thrived owing to its strong culture; as a Director, you are core in helping maintain this culture through living and promoting the Moneybox values.
The role is a trusted advisor to the VP Finance, but also has direct exposure to our Chief Executive Officers and Chief Operating Officer. You’re expected to deliver in the role:
- Values-driven leadership: You take end-to-end ownership of Treasury, acting as a high-trust role model who leads with humility and radical honesty
- Operational excellence through accountability: You oversee day-to-day operations with a relentless focus on collective results, ensuring accuracy and efficiency are team benchmarks
- Curious & Data-Driven: You possess a genuine hunger to understand the "why" behind the numbers, diving deep into behavioral data to ensure our liquidity strategy is built on solid foundations
- Architect of transparent governance: You design KPIs and Risk Frameworks that provide the clarity and "buy-in" necessary for the firm to progress with complete confidence
- Strategic automation driver: You utilize technology to eliminate manual friction, driving the functional tech strategy and holding the function accountable for delivering
- Collaborative relationship builder: You cultivate banking and counterparty relationships through authentic connection, ensuring external partners are aligned with our mission
- Cross-functional partner: You work seamlessly cross-functionally, breaking down silos to ensure operational excellence and positive commercial outcomes are a shared victory
- Accountable regulatory guardian: You take full ownership of critical reporting (ICARA, MIF), ensuring our regulatory standing is beyond reproach through meticulous attention to detail
- Commercially sharp strategic advisor: You translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior management, driving high-stakes outcomes like M&A, funding plans, and IPO readiness
- Voice of healthy conflict: As a key member of the Treasury Management Committee, you lean into challenging debates to ensure the best decisions are made for the company
Who you are
- Results-first leader: You possess an ego-less approach to success, instinctively prioritizing collective company outcomes over personal or functional ambition
- Cross-functional catalyst: You thrive in shared-goal environments, understanding that true accountability means bridging silos to ensure the entire team wins, not just your department.
- Hungry & intellectually curious: You bring an exceptional work ethic and a "thirst for knowledge" that drives you to constantly improve yourself and the systems around you
- Action-Oriented: You have the acumen to translate high-level strategy into tangible outputs, ensuring that "commitment" isn't just a word, but a measurable result
- Collaborative Communicator: You build trust by being radically honest—admitting mistakes and asking for help—and you prefer healthy debate to reach the best outcomes
Experience and Skills
- Credentialed Excellence: You hold a professional qualification that proves your technical rigour—whether it’s an ACA, CFA, or ACT.
- Liquidity Mastery: Beyond just managing cash, you’ve mastered the art of strategically deploying significant capital to balance safety with return.
- Data Translation: As a natural "data translator," you turn complex datasets into sharp, commercially savvy moves that drive the business forward.
- Regulatory Navigation: Having successfully navigated high-stakes landscapes, you bring deep familiarity with ICARA, ICAAP, or ILAAP frameworks.
- CASS Stewardship: With a robust understanding of CASS compliance, you ensure the integrity and protection of client assets is never compromised.
- People-First Leadership: You bring a proven track record of mentoring high-performing teams and fostering long-term professional growth.
- Thriving Under Pressure: You excel in high-velocity settings, staying calm, focused, and effective when the pace picks up.
- Strategic Communication: Distilling complex financial truths for C-suite stakeholders comes naturally to you; you are an excellent communicator who can command a room.
