Director, Risk (Del 1)
The Director – Risk (DMO) shall support the analysis of all data from Subdistricts and Projects within one of Qiddiya's largest BU's and provide the Senior Director – Risk with relevant and up to date assurance and compliance analysis to support business unit leadersnip.
The position is a direct report of the Senior Director – Risk and will have worked on many large-scale programs and / or projects in a Risk capacity. The Director will be able to communicate to Executive management level of the business and be able to determine pertinent and relevant information for dissemination in a timely manner. The Director will be able to communicate with their peers and subordinates to ensure that data is available in accordance with established cadence, and the requirements of the Senior Director.
The Director - Risk has responsibility for the implementation and oversight of EBU Subdistrict and Portfolio Risk Management and for maintaining the quality of Risk Management activities.
The Director – Risk will assist in the development and implementation of consistent and effective Risk Management tools, techniques, processes and standards, in line with QIC’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates QIC's "Safety First" value, specifically confident in enacting ‘Stop Work’ authority, engage in relevant health/safety/well-being standards and behaviors.
- Role models leadership behaviors, in line with the Qiddiya Values.
- Supports the development of a Risk culture within integrated Development and Delivery project teams across the Division.
- Participates in the implementation of Risk Management policies, processes, procedures and controls at the Subdistrict level.
- Has input into the EBU N-1 Risk Management cycle by carrying out risk identification, risk evaluation, risk mitigation, risk monitoring and reporting using input from the Subdistrict / Project N-2 level.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for Risk Management Qualitative and Quantitative processes at Subdistrict level.
- Assists in embedding within the EBU a set of KPIs in risk reporting platforms in relation to risk performance across the BU and implement these effectively.
- Supports the professional development of all risk resources across EBU by frequent engagement and communications
- Provides on an ad hoc basis guidance and consultative advice to the Business to enable risk-informed decision making.
- Assists in the conduct of policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Coordinates with other functional leads and project key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Educated to Degree level, with equivalent training and experience.
- 15 years minimum of previous experience required, including 5 years in leadership positions in Development and Delivery portfolios.
- Proficient user of IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet)
- High level of Proficiency with Risk Management Systems (such as ARM, Safran Risk, Risk Hive etc.)
- Excellent management skills including organization, time management, resourcefulness, flexibility, communication and collaboration with proven success at teamwork and working independently.
- Experienced in the production of portfolio and programme level reports.
- Time management, organization and prioritization skills and able to prioritize, plan and agree activities across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good communication skills in a multi-cultural environment.
- Strong team player and collaborator
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results and drive to succeed.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent knowledge of Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Management methodologies and processes.
- Previous experience in leadership Risk roles within PMO / PMC organizations
- Effective communication and presentation abilities
- Degree in risk management or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management or similar.
- Membership of professional Risk association (IRM, RMIA etc.).
