The Team

The Global Payments Solutions (GPS) EMEA Financial Institutions (FI) Group is one of the fastest-growing and most internationally focussed client teams in GPS. We are in an active growth phase. Based in Milan, you will be responsible for expanding our franchise across Southern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean through new mandate acquisition, increased wallet share and sustainable revenue growth, while strengthening Bank of America's position across three distinct and dynamic markets. Your primary focus will be Italy, with additional coverage responsibility for Greek and Israeli financial institutions, and regional and global origination responsibilities for a diversified portfolio of Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) clients headquartered in those markets, including their subsidiaries worldwide.

Responsibilities

This is an origination-led role. The Treasury Sales Officer (TSO) is responsible for identifying, developing and converting business opportunities across an assigned portfolio of Bank and NBFI clients. Success in this role will be measured through new mandates won, growth in product penetration, increased wallet share and sustainable revenue generation.

Target sub-sectors include traditional and cooperative banks; insurance companies, where we see significant opportunity across collections, payments, liquidity and FX; asset and wealth managers; and fintech and payment technology firms including PSPs, neobanks, card companies and merchants. The TSO works closely with Corporate Banking, Global Treasury Sales colleagues and key Product partners (cash management, FX, card, trade and liquidity) to shape solutions that meet client needs.

  • Originate and win new mandates. Identify, shape and convert new opportunities - including with institutions where the bank has no existing GPS relationship - developing tailored solutions aligned to client needs and delivering against explicit new-business targets

  • Own the market development agenda for Italy, Greece and Israel: define the coverage strategy, map the client and prospect universe, and set clear growth priorities across banks, insurers and the wider NBFI segment

  • Hold primary relationship and GPS sales responsibility for a portfolio of Bank and NBFI clients headquartered in the target markets, alongside their subsidiaries globally

  • Grow existing relationships by expanding product penetration and wallet share; understand client treasury objectives and match the bank's capabilities against those requirements to deliver incremental revenue

  • Build and sustain senior-level relationships across client organisations, from treasury and operations through to C-suite decision-makers

  • Represent Bank of America across the covered markets - with clients, prospects, industry bodies, regulators and at relevant conferences and forums - raising the profile of our GPS franchise

  • Lead the end-to-end deal process: design, write and present proposals and cash management solutions, lead formal RFP responses, and drive mandates through to implementation and revenue realisation

  • Ensure complete alignment in client selection and growth strategies with Corporate Banking colleagues

  • Deliver revenue and pipeline in line with agreed goals, with disciplined account planning and CRM hygiene

  • Ensure full observance of and adherence to applicable compliance, regulatory, sanctions and risk requirements and guidelines

  • Provide client, market and competitive insights to management and business partners to support product development, solution enhancement and franchise growth.

  • Act as a liaison with Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit and Risk, Compliance, Product Management, Client Delivery & Service, Implementation and Operations

What we are looking for

  • A strong track record of driving revenue growth and winning new mandates in the FIG sector, with the creativity to design differentiated solutions and the influence to build consensus internally and with clients

  • Demonstrated ability to define growth strategies, identify market opportunities, influence senior stakeholders, and mobilise cross-functional partners to deliver revenue growth and franchise expansion.

  • Strong understanding of the Italian financial services landscape, including the banking, insurance and asset management sectors, with working knowledge of — or clear capability to build coverage across - the Greek and Israeli markets

  • Experience selling treasury and payments solutions to insurance clients, or a clear ability to build credibility in that segment

  • Successful history of direct treasury management sales within the FIG sector, covering cash management, correspondent banking, liquidity, commercial cards, foreign exchange, working capital and trade

  • International treasury management experience and GPS product knowledge across Europe and the broader EMEA region

  • Fluency in English and Italian is required; additional language capabilities, particularly Greek or Hebrew, would be advantageous

  • Ability to travel to maintain an active presence across the covered markets to support client engagement, business development and origination activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior-level client relationships, represent the bank externally, and originate opportunities that support revenue growth, market expansion and broader franchise objectives.

  • Ability to foster partnerships within the core team and build rapport with client contacts; engages all internal partners for sales opportunities and manages deal flow end-to-end

  • Effectively manages competing priorities in an organised fashion while sustaining a consistent level of client satisfaction

  • Effectively manages risk while balancing the needs of the client, the team and the bank

  • Works effectively as an individual contributor and as a close team member, and acts as a mentor to junior colleagues
