Disability Support Worker

About the Role
Join our Rockhampton team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and Community Access Support (CAS) program. We are currently recruiting permanent part-time Disability Support Workers. In this rewarding role, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, inclusion, and quality of life for the people we support. This role requires experience working with Complex Behaviours and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and is the perfect opportunity for experienced Support Workers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing personal care and support with daily living activities, assisting with medication administration and monitoring health needs
  • Tailoring provided support to align with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, and providing care for individuals that may have complex behaviours
  • Supporting customers to safely use mobility aids, including hoists and wheelchairs
  • Encouraging social inclusion through community participation
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and completing administrative tasks as required

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 months working with complex behaviours and implementing PBS plans (required)
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex medical or health needs (required)
  • Ability to complete documentation and administrative tasks accurately
  • A genuine and empathetic approach to caring for individuals with disability

Requirements

  • Current Driver Licence (P2 minimum)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
