Alaska Marine Trucking provides and manages local freight distribution services in Alaska which includes loading, unloading, warehousing, pickup and delivery. SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates full load truck dispatch activities by efficiently coordinating the pick-up and delivery of freight between Company and customer facilities. Specific duties include directing and coordinating all aspects of day-to-day full load operations to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned to support the department or other departments as time allows.
Safety is Lynden’s first responsibility to our employees and our customers. This position is a safety-sensitive position and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner is required.
Schedule and route drivers of Company trucks in order to meet freight delivery and pick-up needs of commercial as well as personal customers.
Maintains telephone and/or radio contact with Company drivers using Compass to send tasks and manage drivers.
Direct scheduling of shipments and notify concerned departments and customers of arrival and delivery times and/or dates.
Assist Human Resources/Safety department in ensuring operational and administrative compliance with Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
Daily review of Company driver Hours of Service, freight delivery and pick-up times, route optimization, and fuel idling records with the use of computerized programs.
Assist in terminal operations and equipment control as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years related experience in the transportation industry is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to read, write, and interpret routine reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, vendors, managers, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Alaska Commercial Driving License, Class A, with air brake endorsement and hazardous materials endorsement recommended or ability to obtain.
Ability to obtain valid DOT medical card
FHWA Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.19) and Brake Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.25)
