District Sales Manager – North & South Carolina

About the Role
TOTO USA is seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to drive sales growth and market development throughout North and South Carolina. This remote, field-based position is responsible for increasing market penetration, sales revenue, and specification activity by developing strong relationships with distributors, builders, contractors, architects, designers, developers, and other key industry partners.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished outside sales professional who understands the plumbing, building products, or construction products industry and is comfortable managing a multi-state territory, developing new business, and working across both distribution and specification channels.
Candidates must reside in the Charlotte, NC metropolitan area and be able to travel regularly throughout North and South Carolina.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue, market share, profitability, and strategic growth objectives.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with builders, plumbing contractors, wholesalers, developers, commercial end users, and other prospective customers.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, distributors, plumbing wholesalers, kitchen and bath dealers, builders, contractors, and other channel partners.
- Manage territory performance against established sales goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with assigned manufacturer representative agencies to increase sales effectiveness and market penetration.
- Build relationships with architects, designers, plumbing engineers, developers, and other specification influencers to secure product specifications and manage project opportunities through completion.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities for customers and industry professionals.
- Utilize CRM and business intelligence tools to manage account and opportunity activity, sales pipelines, and forecasting.
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and customer activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer, product, service, and account-related concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge of TOTO products, pricing, availability, competitive activity, and market trends.
- Participate in industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities to generate business and strengthen TOTO's presence throughout the territory.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant outside sales experience; an equivalent combination of education and substantial relevant experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales goals while independently managing a defined sales territory.
- Strong sales planning, prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience developing relationships with builders, contractors, wholesalers, developers, architects, designers, distributors, or other relevant industry stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, territory-management, pipeline-management, analytical, and sales forecasting skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales or business intelligence tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote and field-based environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the travel requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the plumbing industry or selling plumbing fixtures, kitchen and bath products, building materials, construction products, or related products.
- Established relationships within the North and South Carolina builder, plumbing wholesale, contractor, distribution, and specification communities.
- Experience working with national or regional home builders, multifamily developers, and commercial construction firms.
- Experience with SAP CRM, Tableau, or similar CRM and business intelligence platforms.
Location & Travel
This is a remote/field-based position covering North Carolina and South Carolina. Candidates must reside in the Charlotte, NC metropolitan area.
Frequent travel throughout North and South Carolina is required, including overnight travel as business needs dictate. Additional travel may be required for trade shows, customer events, industry events, training, and company meetings.
The role is performed across a variety of settings, including a home office, customer locations, showrooms, construction/project sites, trade shows, and other field environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel for extended periods and to sit, stand, and walk as needed during travel, customer meetings, presentations, trade shows, and other field activities.
- Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment and communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic platforms.
