Drafter / Quantity Surveyor

Position Summary

The Drafter / Quantity Surveyor is responsible for translating project requirements into clear technical drawings and accurate commercial quotations. The role bridges technical drafting and commercial administration, with supplementary duties in brand marketing.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Technical Documentation

Produce detailed 2D shop drawings, construction details, and general arrangement plans using AutoCAD.

Coordinate revisions based on client feedback, site measurements, and engineering specifications.

Maintain a structured drawing register and ensure proper file naming conventions and version control.

Review architectural and structural drawings to identify discrepancies or missing details prior to fabrication.

2. Estimation & Quotation Preparation

Perform quantity take-offs from architectural and design drawings.

Source material and fabrication costs from vendors and subcontractors.

Compile standardized quotation sheets, scope-of-work documentation, and price variation orders using Microsoft Excel.

Ensure all pricing calculations, markups, and project specifications align with company pricing guidelines.

Track quotation submission deadlines and assist in following up on tender status.

3. Marketing & Business Support

Curate project photos and case studies for digital portfolios and website updates.

Prepare presentation slides for project pitches and client proposals.

Assist in creating and scheduling posts for digital marketing channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, company website).

Provide general administrative support for project handover documents and operations.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Education: Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Services, or related disciplines. Fresh graduates with strong technical portfolios are welcome to apply.

Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (data tables, formulas, quotation formatting).

Familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva is advantageous.

Competencies:

High numerical accuracy and meticulous attention to drafting tolerances and material specifications.

Clear written and verbal communication skills for liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple quotation deadlines simultaneously.
