About the role
The Drupal Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing digital user experiences across the Agencies public websites and intranet platforms. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of web specialists, the role takes ownership of front-end and back-end development, content management solutions, and the continuous improvement of the Agencies digital ecosystem.

The successful candidate will bring solid experience with Drupal 9, 10 and 11, along with well-developed skills across front-end technologies, integration patterns, and modern web development practices. They will contribute to solution design, lead development activities within defined work streams, and ensure high-quality, accessible, and secure digital products.

Duties

• Solid experience with Drupal development, including theming, content architecture, module configuration and custom module development.
• Strong experience delivering and enhancing web content management solutions, with a focus on platform efficiency, performance optimisation and accessibility (WCAG).
• Ownership of development tasks across the full lifecycle, including solution design, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing support within GovCMS PaaS and Azure infrastructure environments.
• Proficiency in front end development technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap 5), with the ability to build responsive and accessible interfaces and editing experiences.
• Working knowledge of server side technologies (e.g. PHP, Java) and ability to contribute to custom integrations and APIs.
• Experience delivering full stack solutions, including configuration and optimisation of web servers (e.g. Nginx, Apache), databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps).
• Collaboration with architects, designers, content teams, and cloud engineers to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Contribution to documentation best practices and operating standards development, to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Experience working within Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) aligned environments, contributing to change, release, and incident management processes.

Skills & experience

• Proven experience delivering and maintaining Drupal-based solutions in a professional environment, including customisation and development.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end web development work across multiple projects.
• Strong experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar frameworks).
• Experience working with and implementing APIs, integrations, and RESTful services.
• Working knowledge of server-side development (PHP preferred) and web application frameworks.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience with the GovCMS PaaS product.
