POSITION PURPOSE
The DTG Support Technician will be responsible for facilitating the flow of production from start to finish through assisting in the creation of and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP's), machine maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting break/fix issues. This position will also facilitate and support team member training through one on one and small group sessions. This role interacts with other stakeholders throughout the organization, external partners and is a key player in the success and continuous improvement of DTG (Direct-to-Garment) processes.
JOB DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures production floor is operational through execution of routine preventative maintenance of all machinery, including all DTG printing, pad printing, and curing equipment.
- Assists training of staff by implementing, tracking, and enforcing of department standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoots DTG machinery related issues and effectively administers all break-fix diagnostics and partners with any outside organizations assisting with repairs.
- Adhere to annual maintenance and supplies budget with regular updates to control costs.
- Troubleshoots DTG machinery related issues and effectively administers break fix diagnostics internally or with assistance of outside technical resources in timely manner.
- Researches and makes recommendations regarding new technology and how its implementation would further develop DTG operations/throughput.
- Manages spare parts inventory, printing supplies, and ink/fluids through vendor relationships.
- Execute and manage projects that support company strategies and department initiatives.
- Escalates any safety concerns or reccomendations to the Direct-to-Garment Manager as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates' Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required in field
- Technical vocational school preferred
- 2-3 years of experience maintaining printing equipment in commercial/industrial print and production facility with at least 85% uptime required
- Experience with scaling printing production and scaling operations preferred
- Critical thinking, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Effective communicator with problem-solving skills
- Ability to integrate well into fast-paced, diverse, competitive and results driven environment and properly delegate tasks to accomplish department goals
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible or irregular hours which may include weekends, nights or Holidays
- Adheres to quality and safety protocols
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to sit in stationary position in an office or warehouse environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations
- Ability to move in an office or warehouse environment in order to access files, parts, or other items, gather information or meet with others
- Ability to lift from the floor to above the head 50 lbs occasionally throughout work shift
- Ability to work in a production and warehouse environment with constant exposure to loud machinery
- Ability to distinguish colors and inspect materials on product
