Summary
Designs engine components for commercial trucks, focusing on durability, thermal management, and NVH using Siemens NX and GD&T, while collaborating with suppliers and resolving field failures.
- Know-how of Commercial Vehicle Engines functionality and all critical subsystems for Euro, US and BS emission regulations
- Awareness of Engine development process
- Knowledge & experience of designing complex engine components based on functional, durability & manufacturing requirements and development of engine components with suppliers.
- In depth knowledge of applied GD&T and drawing specifications especially for the engine components and assembly systems.
- Knowledge of CAE simulation (especially structural static loads) and validation will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques like 8D, Why-Why analysis, etc.
- Has proven track record on field failure resolutions
- Must have detailed functional understanding of Engine and subcomponents
- Proficient in Siemens NX 3d modelling, drafting and NX CAE
- Design of plastic/steel tubes, support brackets, and peripheral components for cooling, lubrication, and intake/exhaust systems.
- Works on problems of complex scope, applying standard concepts & principles extensively for engine design and validation.
- Bring in ideas for innovation relevant to engine efficiency, thermal management, and NVH reduction.
- Develop trusting relationships with partners in close collaboration with the team.
- Interact across departments for project-related activities.
- Work with internal and external consulting engineers for design validation and optimization.
- Manage series issues of engine
Supporting experience/ Tools/ Techniques/ Soft Skills:
- Independent handling of design responsibility of any automotive engine component, preferably with OEM or Tier 1 supplier
- Good knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
- Stakeholder Management & Interacting with suppliers to explain the design intent and understand the manufacturing limitations , Aware of QMS requirements.
- Capable of understanding Lifecycle management of engine components giving interim and long-term solutions related to durability, thermal performance, and NVH.
- Technical expertise in component design and field failure management
- Well versed with MS Office (Excel, Power Point), Agile, Co-creative but self-standing, AI and related technologies
- Able to present the team in-group meetings, preparing Minutes of Meeting, Task Prioritizing, straightforward communication with flexible approach.
- Assertive and good listener
- Ability to grasp changing scenarios and adjust priorities accordingly.
B.E/ B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant with minimum 2 years experience.
OEM Experience will be beneficial.
