About the Role
At Event Cinemas, great experiences start long before the movie does.
As our Duty Manager | Retail Manager (Cinema Worker Level 5), you'll lead the teams behind some of the most important moments in our guest journey, from tickets and popcorn to guest service, presentation and cinema operations. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of our retail and front-of-house areas, drive operational excellence, and develop a high-performing team that delivers exceptional experiences for every guest, every visit.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves developing people, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead from the front.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Guest Experience

Champion exceptional guest service across all Front of House and Food & Beverage areas.
Create a welcoming, energetic and guest-focused environment.
Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues with confidence and professionalism.
Ensure presentation standards are consistently maintained across all guest-facing areas.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach and develop Front of House and Food & Beverage team members.
Build a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.
Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training.
Provide clear direction and leadership during shifts while recognising and celebrating great performance.

Operations

Oversee the daily operation of Scoop Alley, Confection, Box Office and Floor teams.
Ensure food safety, stock control, cash handling and compliance standards are maintained.
Monitor productivity, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure smooth execution of daily operations.
Support campaigns, blockbuster openings, promotions and events.
Assist with rostering, administration and inventory management.

Commercial Performance

Drive sales through strong product knowledge, upselling and team engagement.
Support the achievement of revenue, payroll and cost targets.
Monitor stock levels, wastage and inventory accuracy.
Ensure operational and financial procedures are followed correctly.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, guest service and leading great teams.
You'll ideally bring:

Leadership experience in hospitality, food & beverage, retail, entertainment or customer service.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
RSA and First Aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a passion for developing people.
