Education Data Insights Specialist (BI Developer)

A BI Developer on CEnet's Education Insights and Technology team designing and deploying data models, pipelines, reports, and interactive dashboards for K-12 stakeholders. Core work centres on dimensional modelling, data warehousing, SQL/T-SQL, and BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Yellowfin, and Looker Studio.

We are looking for a skilled Education Data Insights Specialist (BI Developer) to join our Education Insights and Technology team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex business problems and actionable knowledge, helping deliver quality learning and teaching outcomes across our network.
As a BI Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of complex data models, reports, and interactive dashboards. You will work with both internal and external data sources to provide clear insights for K-12 stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities include:
Data Modelling: Applying expert proficiency in dimensional modelling, specifically star schemas and fact/dimension tables, to optimise performance
Pipeline Management: Creating and managing scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and storage
Data Warehousing: Actively participating in the design and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse to support BI initiatives
Governance & Quality: Performing routine data validation and audits while managing strict security and access protocols
Stakeholder Engagement: Translating complex educational requirements into technical specifications and maintaining transparent relationships with stakeholders.

Technical Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a dedicated Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Specialist
Dimensional Modelling: Extensive practical experience in designing star schemas and dimensional models
Analytics Applications: Expert proficiency in building sophisticated dashboards, insights, reports using tools such as PowerBI, Yellowfin, Tableau, Looker Studio
Coding and Programming: Expert command of SQL and T-SQL, exposure to Javascript desirable
Embrace AI: Be forward thinking, embraces the use of AI to enhance productivity, workflow and execution
Key Competencies:
Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
