IU Health has an outstanding opportunity available for a RN Educator to join our team at our Methodist Hospital location in Indianapolis. This role will be a full time Monday-Friday role working on our day shift.

The RN Educator provides assistance in training clinical team members, both RNs and Support Staff. Supports and coordinates onboarding activities in partnership with Nursing Professional Development Practitioners. This RN Educator ensures clinical instruction meets quality standards and team members receive effective orientation through precepted time and experience in their assigned role and facilitates an environment of learning through deliberate practice and meaningful feedback. The RN Educator serves as the clinical expert to assigned areas and is a strong role model for quality and safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical orientation groups in patient care environment.
  • Collaborate with Unit Based Educator to create efficient and effective onboarding processes that provide high value to new hires, our preceptors, patients, and team members.
  • Establish and build relationships with new nurses, support staff, and preceptors to create extraordinary onboarding experiences.
  • Evaluate clinical practice and provide feedback on new orientee progression.
  • Flexibility for some weekends/evenings each month.
  • Coach preceptors for improved onboarding experience.

  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Requires current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Indiana. BSN required.
  • Requires current organizational-specified CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.
  • Requires knowledge of adult learning principles, regulatory requirements, and educational program management.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and software applications.
