Nortal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails & React) to drive initiatives from planning through delivery, maintaining clear communication on progress, risks, and dependencies.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to engineering best practices, and help grow our LATAM remote team. The position offers a competitive USD salary and 100% remote work, with holidays and sick leave in line with local regulations.

Own timing, coordination, and follow-up for assigned projects and initiatives. Work self-sufficiently, with minimal oversight, while knowing when to ask for help. Partner directly with Product Managers on scoping, planning, and prioritization. Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices. Deliver high-quality code at a consistent pace, with regular status communication. Contribute to and help improve team processes and procedures. 5+ years of experience in Software Development. 4+ hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails. 3+ years of experience in React. Proven track record operating at a Senior engineer level (or equivalent). Comfortable working directly with Product Managers, not just other engineers. Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers. Solid debugging and problem-solving skills across the stack. Strong communication skills, both async and in real time.
