EHS Administrator
Summary
Coordinates and implements workplace safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
The EHS Administrator will assist with coordination and implementation of organizational safety, health, and environmental programs to promote a positive safety culture to ensure an incident free work environment and full compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Become thoroughly familiar with and facilitate actions to keep the company in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to health, safety, and the environment.
- Create, revise and support implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures and ensure their adherence.
- Create, revise and conduct both internal and external EH&S training and response.
- Conduct EHS new hire orientation.
- Assist in accident and incident investigations, assign correct actions and track to completion.
- Assist business units with conducting regular safety audits and report on safety audit results and closure rates.
- Regularly attend Business Unit safety committee meetings and assist in corrective action decision making.
- Assist in workers’ compensation claims in regard to reports, required communication and follow up.
- Prepare and keep updated PPE/JSA and LOTO work instructions for all job classifications and new machinery.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of Plascore Ergonomics Program.
- Organize and maintain record keeping per records retention requirements.
- Create and distribute communications related to EHS as required (newsletters, bulletin boards etc.)
- Maintain and update SDS folders.
- Participate in all required planning and maintenance of ISO 14001 Certification and any other EHS Certifications to be attained by the company.
- Attain certification as a storm water operator; serve as inspector for hazardous waste, oil storage, wastewater, storm water, and additional Environmental duties as assigned.
- Assist with hazard identification and mitigation.
- Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
- Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of progressively more responsible experience
- A professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to that ordinarily acquired by completing a four-year baccalaureate program.
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suit (PowerPoint, Excel, Word Processing)
- Strong communications skills both internally and externally
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
