Summary
The Assistant Manager , EHS position develops, implements, and monitors safety programs by conducting inspections, managing training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Key functions include risk assessment, policy development, incident reporting, staff training, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety inspections of workplaces, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Develop and deliver safety training programs and awareness materials for employees, ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Maintain accurate and current records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions, and prepare regular reports on safety metrics.
Ensure the organization adheres to all relevant health, environmental, and safety regulations and legal requirements.
Communicate safety guidelines to employees, collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns, and report safety issues to senior management.
Provide guidance and support to employees and management on all safety-related matters.
Ensure company safety policies are consistently followed throughout the organization
Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and correct disposal procedures (e.g., RCRA compliance).
Analyze safety data and incident reports to identify areas for improvement and institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
Maintain and update safety documentation, safety management systems, OSHA logs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Risk Assessments.
Assist in developing and implementing emergency response procedures.
Assist with EHS Operations at Shreveport and Tampa site

Education & Experience
High School Diploma
Valid State Issued Driver's License
Minimum of 6 years Required
