Electrical Design Engineer - Data Centre

Lead HV Electrical Engineer (12-Month Renewable Contract)

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Lead HV Electrical Engineer to join our team on a 12-month renewable contract based in Ireland ( Cork/ Dublin).

In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise to design and manage advanced electrical systems for cutting-edge MCF and data centre projects across the globe. Your skills in 3D/BIM modelling, power supply design, and critical infrastructure will play a vital part in ensuring the security and efficiency of data centres worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical work packages across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Define project scope, design, and management objectives, while ensuring smooth communication with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports.
  • Assist in project cost management, risk assessments, and vendor evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure continuous professional growth.
  • Review contractor pre-qualifications and contribute to tender evaluations.
  • Represent in factory acceptance tests, site testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Communicate the status of projects to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Your Expertise:

  • Power Supply Systems: Design and manage power supplies ranging from 5V DC to 150kV substations, including all distribution, storage, and uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Security Installations: Work on critical installations related to fire protection, intrusion protection, and access control, ensuring maximum security for data centres.
  • Live Data Centres: You’ll be working in live data centres, managing risk assessments, testing, and commissioning protocols.
