The company is launching a new brand focused on data center development and prefabricated product delivery. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer who can independently lead electrical design work for data center projects, supporting design development, technical review, tendering, prefabricated product delivery, and project implementation across overseas markets.
This role will serve as the electrical discipline owner across design and delivery interfaces, working closely with architecture, mechanical, structural, product, pre-sales, project delivery, vendors, and external consultants to ensure the electrical system is safe, reliable, scalable, and aligned with international data center standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently lead electrical design for data center projects, including concept design, schematic design, design development, technical coordination, and design review.
- Develop and review electrical system architecture covering utility intake, MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs/RPPs, grounding, lightning protection, and emergency power systems.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load calculations, capacity planning, equipment schedules, technical specifications, and design narratives.
- Support prefabricated data center product design by translating project requirements into standardized electrical modules, interfaces, factory testing requirements, and installation-ready deliverables.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, fire services, BMS/DCIM, and ICT disciplines to resolve cross-discipline design interfaces and spatial coordination issues.
- Provide technical support for pre-sales and tendering, including technical proposals, tender clarifications, customer meetings, value engineering, and technical risk assessments.
- Review vendor submissions, equipment selections, factory acceptance test requirements, and technical deviations to ensure compliance with project specifications and data center reliability requirements.
- Support project delivery teams during construction, commissioning, testing, issue resolution, and handover, ensuring design intent is maintained through implementation.
- Track international data center electrical standards, industry best practices, equipment trends, and regulatory requirements across target overseas markets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of electrical design experience, with hands-on experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to independently lead electrical discipline design for data center or mission-critical projects, from early-stage design through detailed design and delivery support.
- Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, grounding, protection coordination, redundancy architecture, and electrical system reliability design.
- Able to perform load calculations, power capacity planning, single-line diagram design, equipment sizing, technical specification writing, and design review independently.
- Familiar with international electrical codes and data center standards, such as IEC, BS, IEEE, NFPA, TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier Standard, or equivalent frameworks.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Revit, BIM coordination, ETAP, Dialux, or other electrical design and analysis tools is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, technical judgement, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Working English capability is required, including the ability to read technical documents and participate in technical discussions; stronger spoken and written English is preferred for overseas projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in data center design, modular data centers, prefabricated electrical modules, power skids, containerized solutions, or overseas data center projects.
- Experience working with international consultants, EPC contractors, equipment vendors, or customers in Southeast Asia or other overseas markets.
- Professional qualifications such as Registered Electrical Worker, Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, CDCP/CDCS, or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, tendering, technical proposal review, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, or value engineering for data center projects is preferred.
