Electrical Mechanic
SUMMARY:
Installation and repairs of electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery, and equipment by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Follow and promote company safety rules and policies and follows acceptable safety work practices.
- Install power supply wiring conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as extruders and control cabinets, electrical motors and programmable controllers.
- Connects power supply wires machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machine and equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty PLC’s, DC and AC drives
- Test for any malfunctions and verify if repairs are necessary
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring conduit and electrical apparatus in building
- Designs and draw electrical schematics and request any purchase necessary to build and install electrical control panels for equipment
- Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors and other position sensing devices
- Fabricate new equipment or modify existing equipment to meet production standards
- Perform electrical preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment and other related equipment
