Electrical Technician

Key responsibilities:

Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV-MV motors, LV switchboards, MCCs, plant lightings, transformers, UPS, VFD, breakers, soft starter, etc. Carry out planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance work with minimal direction and supervision.

Identify and report any abnormalities. Repair and/or replace required items and reassemble and test the equipment, ensuring the working area is left clean.

Technically assess the requirements of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work.

Effectively diagnose electrical breakdowns and failures, and troubleshoot electrical failures of plant and equipment with minimal or no direction.

Use computerized maintenance systems to order spare parts from the warehouse and maintain records of all completed maintenance work.

Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.

Monitor any repeated breakdowns and recommend proper modifications to resolve the problem.

Provide plant and equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians and craft trainees, as well as contractors, to assist them in carrying out maintenance work.

Continuously work towards improving EHS and plant and equipment performance by participating in 5S, business excellence, and safety initiatives.

Perform other related duties as communicated by supervisor or superior.

Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

• Diploma in a relevant field.
• Completion of PEC craft training.

Minimum experience:

• 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after obtaining a diploma.
• No experience required after completion of PEC training.

Skills:

• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with all maintenance tools and strong IT knowledge.
• Experience in installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
