Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic
Do you have experience with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electronic industrial controls equipment? If so, please consider joining the NIH Office of Research Facilities (ORF)! As an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, you will be responsible for the performance of technical and mechanical tasks of complex electronic industrial controls equipment to support NIH facilities.
Coordinates efforts with technical and professional personnel on changes to equipment and operating specifications and exercises judgment and independence in determining methods to resolve installation and repair problems.
Troubleshoots and repairs systems during operational tests, conducts procedures to cope with defects, and develops changes to schematics, drawings, and maintenance procedures.
Develops, coordinates, and performs operational tests; analyzes input and output of microprocessors, integrated and discrete solid-state circuits, and transistor applications to recognize indications of improper operation.
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates electronic controls and indicating and recording systems used on industrial machinery, high-pressure boilers, centrifugal refrigeration units, air compressor units, and energy monitoring.
Tests, repairs, overhauls, modifies, and calibrates electronic precision measurement equipment within the Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS).
Performs specialized tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of highly complex equipment associated with Central Utilities.
