About the Opportunity:

An established technology business is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Manager to lead a team of engineers working across embedded systems and connected products.
This is a key leadership role combining people management, technical oversight and delivery, working closely with other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality products.

Why this role matters:

You’ll provide leadership and direction across the embedded software function, helping the team manage priorities, solve technical challenges and continuously improve how firmware is developed and delivered.
You’ll need strong technical credibility, but this isn’t about being the person writing all the code. It’s about enabling engineers to do their best work and keeping delivery moving.

What you'll lead & influence
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of embedded/firmware engineers
  • Oversee firmware development across multiple products and priorities
  • Provide guidance around technical decisions and engineering challenges
  • Work closely with Hardware, Mechanical and Product teams
  • Improve development, testing, documentation and release practices
  • Contribute to longer-term technology and product planning
What you bring
  • Strong experience across embedded software and firmware development
  • Experience leading engineers within an embedded, electronics or product environment
  • Good understanding of electronics and hardware/software integration
  • Knowledge across areas such as firmware architecture, operating systems and device drivers
  • Experience delivering complex technology products
  • Strong people leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills
  • Engineering, Electronics, Computer Systems or similar technical qualification
