Embedded Firmware Lead - Medical Devices

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Technical Lead / SME who can provide strong technical leadership across embedded software/firmware architecture, design, development, debugging, verification, and product lifecycle engineering. Experience in medical devices, safety-critical systems, or other regulated product-development environments is highly preferred.

Role : Senior Technical Lead / SME - Embedded Firmware Specialist.

Location: Pune / Trivandrum.

Experience : 3 - 10 years.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

Firmware Technical Leadership :

- Lead embedded firmware architecture, design, development and technical reviews.

- Develop and review firmware architecture including :

1. BSP, Device drivers, HAL, RTOS, Middleware, Communication stack & Diagnostics.

2. Define firmware interfaces with hardware, sensors, actuators, application software and cloud/connectivity components.

- Hands-on understanding of embedded C/C++ development and debugging.

- Lead complex firmware debugging and root-cause analysis.

- Review source code, design documentation, interfaces, and technical implementation.

- Support legacy firmware understanding, reverse engineering, modernization and platform migration.

Required Technical Skills :

- Embedded C / C++.

- Microcontroller-based firmware development.

- ARM Cortex-M / Cortex-A or equivalent.

- RTOS concepts, Bare-metal embedded development, Device drivers & BSP / HAL.

- Interrupts / DMA / timers.

- Real-time embedded system design.

- SPI / I2C / UART / CAN / USB / Ethernet.

- CI/CD knowledge for embedded development.

- Cybersecurity fundamentals for connected products.

Preferred Medical Device Knowledge :

- IEC 62304.

- ISO 14971.

- IEC 60601 awareness.

- IEC 62366 awareness.

- ISO 13485.

- Requirements traceability.

- Software risk classification.

- Medical device software lifecycle.

- Design controls and DHF documentation.
