Department : Global MCAD

Reports to : Team Lead/Manager - Engineering

Job Summary:

The Engineer will support the design and development of HVAC/Power. This role involves assisting in 3D modelling, BOM preparation, and participation in NPDI activities while building strong fundamentals in product design and engineering processes.

Description of Essential Duties:

  • Validate CAD models (Creo) against design inputs, standards, and legacy data (Solid Edge reference where applicable).
  • Cross-check 3D models, assemblies, and drawings for:
    • Geometry correctness
    • Assembly fitment
    • Missing or incorrect features
  • Verify application of standard templates, parameters, and modelling practices as per company guidelines.
  • Ensure correctness of:
    • Material assignment
    • Part descriptions
    • Naming conventions
    • Part numbering standards
  • Validate engineering drawings for:
    • Dimensional accuracy
    • GD&T (if applicable)
    • Manufacturing readiness
  • Cross-check BOM and assembly structure between:
    • CAD (Creo)
    • Agile PLM
    • PD Cloud system
  • Verify all PLM attributes are correctly filled, including:
    • Classification
    • Lifecycle stage
    • Compliance and material data
  • Ensure proper creation and validation of:
    • Part codes
    • AML (Approved Manufacturer List) data
    • Supplier-related attributes
  • Perform data consistency checks before release:
    • CAD vs PLM alignment
    • Drawing vs model consistency
    • BOM vs structure matching
  • Validate ECO/ECN changes, ensuring:
    • Correct revision updates
    • No missing dependencies
    • Controlled change implementation
  • Develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for:
    • CAD migration validation
    • Data entry in PLM
    • Release workflows
  • Identify and highlight gaps, errors, and deviations from standards and initiate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with design, PLM, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain validation checklists to ensure error-free design release.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce design and data errors in future projects.

Required Competency:

  1. Minimum Diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with relevant exposure to design environment.
  2. 1-3 years of experience on Creo platform in Sheet metal domain is a must.
  3. Working experience in 3D modelling and detailing work on Creo with experience on generating Bills of Materials.
  4. Exposure in Sheet Metal domain will be advantageous.
  5. Working experience on any PLM tools. Agile or PD cloud will be added advantage.
  6. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication process will be an added advantage.
  7. Strong learning attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.
  8. Good Interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
  9. Experience in handling large CAD assemblies in CREO and managing modifications as required.
