Engineer SDG Radar Signal Processing (Embedded Software)

Role & responsibilities

About the Role
Own embedded software development for radar systems. Design, code and test application software for new and existing products, resolve customer issues and contribute to long-term technical strategy and architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time radar algorithms: Pulse Compression, MTI, Pulse Doppler Processing and CFAR detection
• Build radar system models in MATLAB/Simulink or Python to evaluate Pd and Pfa
• Port validated algorithms to FPGAs (Xilinx/Altera) or high-performance DSPs
• Work with firmware teams on VHDL/Verilog implementation
• Develop clutter suppression, jammer cancellation (ECCM) and side-lobe reduction techniques
• Support integration of signal processing software with RF front-ends and back-end data processors
• Analyse field/flight data and perform RCA on detection discrepancies

Required Skills

• Radar fundamentals: Pulsed Doppler, FMCW, Phased Array, SAR
• DSP: FFT, FIR/IIR filtering, adaptive filtering, multirate DSP
• MATLAB (Signal Processing and Radar Toolboxes) and C/C++
• Familiarity with ADC/DAC interfaces, high-speed SerDes and FPGA DSP slices
• Plus: Micro-Doppler analysis, AoA estimation, Beamforming

Education: BE / ME in Computer Science / IT (minimum 60%)
Industry: Defence & Space, Electrical & Electronic Manufacturing, Machinery, Computer & Network Security
