➡️ Mission
Join us as Team Lead – Accounting and help build the last missing piece of Qonto's all-in-one offer for businesses. You'll lead a cross-functional team of Backend and Frontend engineers making accounting effortless for business owners, under the guidance of Yanis, our Head of Engineering for the Accounting domain.
➡️ What you'll do
- Lead your team: You'll manage a team of Backend and Frontend engineers and help each of them grow.
- Put accounting on autopilot: You'll build features that generate bookkeeping automatically and show customers, in real time, the VAT they owe.
- Make accounting simple: You'll turn complex accounting and tax steps into a clear experience that business owners can complete with confidence.
- Bring AI into accounting: You'll ship AI-first experiences, like a chat that answers customers from their own accounting file.
- Co-own the product & keep the technical bar high: You'll shape the roadmap with your Product Manager and Designer, and guide technical design with your engineers while staying close to the code.
➡️ What we're looking for
- People leadership: You've led engineers as a manager or Tech Lead, and you're driven by helping people grow.
- Technical depth: You've built production systems in backend (Go) or frontend (React), and you've coded recently or bring strong system design skills.
- AI-driven development: You use AI in your own engineering work and push your team to raise the bar with it.
- Languages: You're fluent in French and English.
- Bonus: You're familiar with the French accounting world, its services and how accountants work with businesses.
➡️ What we can offer you
- A product at launch: You'll join right after the first launch of Qonto Accounting and shape what it becomes.
- Visible business impact: Accounting keeps customers with Qonto for the long run, so your team’s work shows up directly in loyalty.
- A domain on the move: Qonto Accounting is growing fast in France and starting to expand to other European markets.
➡️ Your future manager
You'll report to Yanis, Head of Engineering, but don't expect micro-management. Yanis grew from Lead Engineer to Head of Engineering over 4 years at Qonto.
He's a pragmatic generalist who has built payment integrations from scratch and is as comfortable on the frontend as on the backend. He gives engineers real ownership, values sharing failures as much as wins, and gets out of the way so the team can ship.
➡️ Our stack & practices
- Our primary languages are Go and Ruby, ReactJS for frontend, and Kotlin and Swift for our mobile apps.
- Our platform runs on Kubernetes, hosted on AWS, with PostgreSQL as our database of choice.
- We use Kafka for event-driven architecture and ELK for logging and auditing, among many other tools.
- Each engineer gets access AI-first tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Notion AI), and we want people who use AI to raise the bar, not just to go faster. Read our AI vision statement.
- We use Linear as an issue tracking and project management platform for our software development
➡️ Our methodology: the Qonto Way
- We value upfront technical design, team code reviews, and smart slicing — quality drives the velocity our customers need.
- Our lean toolbox, Kaizen and PDCA, lets you drive continuous improvement with your peers and manager.
