-Proven experience (3+ years) managing backend engineering teams in a product-driven, distributed environment
-Strong technical background in backend systems. You can credibly challenge architectural decisions, review design documents, and unblock engineers on hard technical problems
-Experience operating services at scale and familiarity with high-availability architectures, event-driven systems, and observability tooling (RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Flink, NATS, Datadog or equivalent)
-Comfortable with polyglot stacks. The team works across TypeScript and Scala; you don't need to be an expert in both but need enough depth to lead effectively
-Track record of navigating complex multi-team dependencies and influencing across organizational boundaries without direct authority
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
