The product is being built from the ground up with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and real-time data. As part of the founding engineering team, you will have a direct impact on the architecture and technical foundations that will support the platform as it scales.

Sobre el rol

We are looking for a Staff+ Founding Backend Engineer (Platform) to join the company as one of its first three engineers and build the data backbone of the platform from 0 to 1.

You will own the backend platform outside of money movement, designing the architecture required to process large volumes of crypto market and blockchain data while remaining reliable during sudden traffic spikes.

Initially, you will integrate third-party data providers and APIs to enable a fast product launch. Over time, you will help replace those dependencies with proprietary Solana and EVM indexing infrastructure, while building the real-time data, WebSocket, caching, database, and cloud architecture required to support a high-volume trading product.

This is a highly hands-on founding role for an engineer who can make architecture decisions, build the systems themselves, and take end-to-end ownership alongside the founder and product lead.

Responsabilidades

• Own the architecture and development of the backend platform from 0 to 1, with responsibility for the systems outside of money movement.
• Integrate third-party crypto data providers and APIs such as Mobula, Zerion, CoinGecko, Alchemy, and Hyperliquid into a reliable backend architecture.
• Design redundancy and fallback mechanisms across external data providers to maintain platform availability and data reliability.
• Build and evolve proprietary on-chain indexing infrastructure for Solana and EVM networks, progressively replacing third-party dependencies.
• Design and implement scalable WebSocket fanout infrastructure to stream real-time prices, positions, and market data to users.
• Build high-performance and cost-efficient data-serving and caching systems capable of handling large data volumes and sudden traffic spikes.
• Design and optimize backend systems using PostgreSQL and AWS or GCP.
• Make key architectural decisions around performance, scalability, reliability, and infrastructure cost.
• Lead platform feature development and technical architecture in close collaboration with the founder and product lead.
• Take end-to-end ownership of backend initiatives, from technical design through implementation and production operation.
• Help establish the engineering foundations and technical standards of the company as an early member of the founding team.

Requisitos

• 6–15 years of professional backend engineering experience, ideally within the 8–12 year range, with demonstrated Staff+ level ownership.
• Recent and meaningful experience in the crypto industry, ideally 2–3+ years.
• Proven experience building and owning backend platforms at a prominent crypto brokerage, wallet, or mobile crypto trading application.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Rust or Go.
• Hands-on experience indexing on-chain blockchain data, specifically within Solana and/or EVM ecosystems.
• Experience designing backend systems capable of processing and serving large volumes of real-time data.
• Experience building and operating WebSocket infrastructure at scale, including fanout and handling significant traffic spikes.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including designing and optimizing data-intensive backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP.
• Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture, caching, reliability, performance, and infrastructure cost optimization.
• Ability to operate with significant autonomy and ownership in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
• Strong drive, execution mindset, and willingness to take responsibility for critical technical decisions and outcomes.
